Part 2: The Angels

Angels in Islam

My daughters experience has left me quite baffled to the point where I have decided to explore further. I was advised to search the internet as it is the main search engine which appeals to a wide audience and is a modern yet influential way of providing crucial information from various perspectives. I Googled, 'the unseen world' and came up with a list of the unseen entities. The list includes; angels, jinn's, aliens, ufo's, and demons. I have decided to look at each entity in greater detail and have dedicated an individual post for these. The first unseen entity I will be looking at is the world of angels. What are angels? What does religion say about angels?

The angels are created by Allah; some have been created with two wings others with three and some with even four. There are differences in the appearance of angels but they are all created from light. They are all created for the purpose of worshipping Allah and are assigned particular tasks. Some are responsible for recording the good and bad deeds of human beings; whilst others are responsible for protection of human beings and others are responsible for the bringing forth of rain, and sustenance. The angel Jibra’il was responsible for bringing the revelation from Allah unto the Prophets.

According to the religion of Islam angels are created and exist in heaven and earth. This shows that the angels are a reality but cannot be seen to humans. Thus there is no way of physically proving angels exist except through the revelation from God regarding angels in the Quran. It is clear about the existence of angels in Islam but what about the existence of angels in other religions? Is there another religion out there that talks and believes in angels?

Part 1: Who Knows what's really out there?

A personal experience

We know of the existence of humans, animals and other earthly beings. We even know that once upon a time dinosaurs existed. How do we know this? Well, by the fossils found millions of years later and because science has made discoveries of new species and continues to do so. But what else exists here on earth that we humans are oblivious to? Just because we cannot see something doesn't mean that it doesn't exist...or does it?

This is what I've been thinking about since the recent episode experienced by my daughter. Having just moved to a new house we all settled in quite quickly. It is a small house but really cosy. Well one night, my daughter went to bed quite late, nearly around twelve. She jumped into bed quite quickly when she heard footsteps on the stairs; assuming she will get told off as she had school the following day, she pulled the covers over her head. After a few minutes she heard movement in her room. She thought it was me so she pushed away the covers and started talking; trying to explain herself.

Assuming it was me and when there was no reply she found that strange as to why I wasn't responding so she looked over to her side and saw a  lady standing over her bed who had very long hair. She was running her hands through her hair and smiling with an evil smile. Her hands were twisted as were her ankles. Her feet were backwards which really spooked her out. She screamed so loud I ran to her. She was in a state of shock, shaking profusely. She turned very pale and wasn't able to talk. All she could manage was one sentence; "There is a lady in my room". I ran upstairs to look but there was nothing. Was it a dream? How could she dream whilst she was awake? Was it her imagination? Her physical state suggested she experienced something very real so what could it have been? It was at this point I remembered the conversation I had with my neighbour John a few days prior where he told me before we moved in a little girl died in the room in which my daughter sleeps. Was this the dead girl's ghost in the guise of a woman?
